Floatation Suspension Lamp

The Floatation suspension lamp was created by Ingo Maurer himself in the year 1980.
This exotic pendant lamp is made up of three shades made of fine Japanese paper. The individual lamp shades hang from thin steel wires, that are turned around at the ceiling rose. The red led ring iron functions as a visual contrast to the light paper and as physical counter weight, and by moving this ring up and down the Flotation can be freely adjusted in height.
The paper of the Floatation is intentionally wrinkled as artistic element. It reacts to fluctuations of atmospheric humidity that changes the tension between the shades. This is why this lamp is not suited for rooms with high humidity. As needed the shades can be replaced individually.
The ceiling rose (Ø 22 cm) is made of white lacquered metal.
The Floatation is available in different diameters, see "product versions", and is delivered excluding illuminant. The matching light source can be ordered as "accessory".
